Coaching programme: why fencing?

Fencing is an opposition sport practised in pairs, the main aim of which is to score points by hitting the opponent with your weapon. As Molière said: ‘The secret of fencing consists in two things: to give and not to receive’.
Fencing is based on fundamental values such as respect, elegance, fair play and critical reinforcement. Through this sport, we learn to use strategies, to reinforce speed and precision. It encourages us to maintain concentration and observe our opponent at all times. Fencing also teaches us to channel our emotions, to bounce back from disappointment or success, and to keep fighting.
What's more, this sport emphasises memorisation, enabling us to detect our opponent's mistakes as well as our own clumsiness during the assault. It's a field where competitiveness is governed by rules that must be respected. We learn the notion of distance, how to set the pace, develop tactics, prepare and take advantage of our opponent's mistakes. Fair play is an integral part of fencing; every bout begins with a salute, even if we are all on the piste with the same objective: to win.
The bout is always a dynamic exchange between the attacker and the defender, during which certain winning behaviours are developed.

Services and Fees

The Ateliers d'Escrime for My Life offer personalised coaching sessions, individually or in small groups, or for couples, depending on your specific needs: strategy, tactics, channelling stress, post-burnout recovery, mental preparation, improving memorization, assertiveness, self-confidence.
Individual coaching: Individual coaching allows you to target precise personal objectives, such as developing strategies and tactics specific to fencing, channelling stress, mental preparation before a competition, or improving memorisation and assertiveness. The sessions are designed to boost self-confidence and help recovery - after a burn out, for example - using relaxation and mental reinforcement techniques.
Couples Coaching: Sessions for couples aim to improve communication, coordination and mutual respect. They allow you to work indirectly on aspects such as collaboration strategy, conflict resolution and mental preparation as a team. These sessions also provide a space to explore and reinforce the values of respect and dignity within the relationship, while sharing an enriching physical activity.
The Fencing for My Job workshops aim to boost performance and excellence in challenges, team projects or personal development through precise, high-quality work where emotional intelligence and the search for the right gesture count. This coaching enables us to target specific personal or group objectives, such as developing proactivity or commercial pugnacity using strategies and tactics specific to fencing, channelling stress, preparing mentally before a high-stakes meeting or oral presentation, or improving memorisation and assertiveness. The sessions are designed to boost individual and collective self-confidence and alignment with ambitious shared objectives.

Fencing for a better life!

Using the pedagogical diversions of fencing, through my workshops in small groups or one-to-one sessions, I offer you the opportunity to become aware of your hidden resources, to reveal your inner strength by building on your strengths. Using practical, fun exercises based on the fundamentals of the sport - keeping your distance, parrying and riposting, showing agility, preparing your hits - you'll reinforce the critical skills you need in your professional or private life.
My workshops last 60 minutes and offer you relaxation of the body, increased concentration, structuring of tactical ideas, as well as improved physical and mental agility.

The Escrime for my Life and Escrime for My Job workshops offer coaching and exercises to help you feel good, and progress!

METHODOLOGY AND APPROACH
I consider my methodology as a systemic and strategic approach, based on principles from the world of fencing therefore with great care and respect and with a strong emphasis on the coaching relationship. I also use elements of psychodrama.

CONFIDENTIALITY
Any information disclosed during our sessions will be treated confidentially, including our coaching relationship. The only exceptions to this rule are when you are in immediate danger of harming yourself or others or if I am legally required to disclose certain information in the event of criminal activity. I may also be required by law to present my case notes in the event of a court hearing. I might also share certain details with my supervisor to maintain adequate coaching standards without revealing your identity to my supervisor.

CANCELLATION POLICY
There is a 48 hour cancellation policy in my workshop, which means that you can cancel a scheduled appointment for free as long as you do so at least 48 hours before the session you wish to cancel; otherwise, you will still be charged the full price. This policy also applies to me: in the rare event that I have to cancel an appointment within 48 hours, your next session will be free. Sessions will be interrupted immediately without refund if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
